Mysoda is the most eco-friendly way of enjoying sparkling water. Our goal is to help you create fizzy moments that don't recklessly tax the planet's resources. That's why we chose to build sparkling water makers from sustainable wood composite instead of fossil-based plastic. We constantly improve our products and strive for a smaller carbon footprint. We have even replaced the traditional plastic caps of our CO2 cylinders with ones made of sugarcane.

Carbonating water at home - the sustainable solution

Carbonating tap water at home is a mores sustainable alternative to store-bought sparkling water sold in single-use plastic bottles. With just one cylinder you can save the waste of up to fourty 1.5L PET bottles. This also reduces transport emissions, since enjoying the same amount of sparkling water requires much less CO2 cylinders than PET bottles to be transported if you make your sparkling water at home.

Craving something more than water? Add some flavour to your sparkling water and make your favourite drinks from concentrate. From 500ml of our drink mix concentrats you can make 4 litres of ready-made beverages using our drink mixes sweetened with sugar or 8 litres of beverages using our sugar-free options.

And the best of it all: you not only cut out transport emissions but also put an end to endlessly carrying heavy bottles home. Win-win!

Harmittomia kuplia?

Niin harmittomilta kuin kuplat kuulostavatkin, voi niiden valmistus ja kuljetus kuluttaa ympäristöämme. Me halusimme tehdä kuplia, joista voit nauttia hyvällä omatunnolla joka päivä. Mysodan hiilidioksidisylinterit (voit kutsua niitä myös kaasupulloiksi) sisältävät elintarvikehiilidioksidia suoraan Kokkolasta, Woikosken tehtaalta. Kaasupullomme täytetään Helsingin Roihupellossa käyttäen ympäristöystävällistä tuulivoimaa. Mysoda-kaasu tulee siis läheltä.

Tiesithän että Mysodan hiilidioksidisylinterit sopivat eri valmistajien, kuten Sodastreamin, Aarken ja Agan hiilihapotuslaitteisiin (poikkeuksena Sodastreamin mallit, joissa Quick Connect -sylinteri). Sekä tietysti kaikkiin Mysodan Woody, Toby ja Ruby -malleihin, sekä vanhempiin Mysoda hiilihapotuslaitemalleihin. Me kierrätämme sylinterit ja täytämme ne kotimaisella hiilidioksidilla kerta toisensa jälkeen. Yhden hiilidioksidisylinterin elinkaari on jopa 40 vuotta! Wood composite - fight against fossil-based plastics

The idea for using an entirely new material sparked when we decided to create a new range of sparkling water makers. Stunning looks were of course one of the goals of our development project, but just as importantly, we wanted to improve our carbon footprint. In fact, we decided that Mysoda should become a frontrunner in the manufacture of more sustainable household appliances. As you already know by now, home carbonation, as a category, has many eco-friendly benefits but we thought we needed to do something more. After evaluating different materials, wood-based composite clearly emerged as the best option for Mysoda.

There are different kinds of wood composites on the market. Let's talk about the one we use for our sparkling water makers. It's called UPM Formi EcoAce and it's made by UM - Te Biofore Company- This wood composite is produced using residues of the sawmill and pulp industries. Residues mean that no tree needs to be cut down to produce the material- Formi EcoAce has two main components, approximately 60% is crude tall oil-based bioplastic, which is a side product of the pulp making process, roughly 40% is wood chips collected from the wood processign industry. Wood composite is basically a combination of these two completely renewable ingredients.

Unlike crop-based biomaterilals, this wood composite doesn't harm the food production chain. The wood used at the beginning of the production chain always comes from sustainably managed forests. We now use it to produce the most sustainable sparkling water makers on the market. Let's hope other manufacturers of household appliances will follow suit!
